About Me

Well hello there! I’m Katie Gaskin. I’m a thirty-somethin’ girl that lives in the woods as a self-proclaimed hermit. I am also an established voice actress, and a chicken-raising, garden-growing, home cooking enthusiast. Videogames and webtoons fill in the gaps of my neurodivergent brain.

More than anything, I am an author with ambitious dreams, who loves to write about people and gods with big emotions, and the ability to destroy the world with those emotions. Don’t be like those guys. Use your big emotions to save the world, people!

In more seriousness, the truest push-pull of “human hearts in motion” is what drives my writing. When two hearts collide, the resulting impact on the world and those around—for better or worse—is a tremendously powerful concept to me, and one I hope to explore in great depth in the world of which I write.

But seriously, guys, use your emotions for good!

"The Legend of Syn"

In the frigid and ancient wilds of Atlas, north of an impassable mountain range and accessible only by sea, a brutal god roams...and reigns. King Ashay: god of all that Changes, whose very directive is to implement the greatest, most lasting Change on the lands beneath his stewardship. That is, until Emmie.

Shipwrecked and having lost everything she holds dear, Emmie finds herself forced into servitude beneath the cold and demanding god-King. But with nothing to lose, and reckless courage that gets her into trouble time and time again, she stands up as an immovable object against the seemingly unstoppable force that is King Ashay. A violent collision of wills that will change the lands, change the course of history, and change them both...forever.

He will not be denied. She will not give in.The ultimate question is: who will break first?

**This story does contain mild themes of non-consent, as well as power imbalances within the context of a developing romantic relationship that may be troubling to some readers.

This is a story about imperfect people and the imperfect gods they worship, and the character development does not happen overnight, nor even to completion in this first book. Humans are complex, and not every bout of growth is perfect. Sometimes we heal in weird ways and accept unacceptable behavior when we shouldn’t.

Themes reflecting domestic abuse are present, and if they make you uncomfortable while reading, they should! They are not okay. The characters in this story are simply doing the best they can with the knowledge they have and within the confines of their world.**
